Current Status and Preclinical Evaluation of Bioresorbable Stents for Sinus Medication

      • Chronic rhinosinusitis is a disease that can cause long-lasting inflammation of the nasal cavity and its mucosa. For this condition, drug-eluting biodegradable sinus stents have been developed as a new treatment method for chronic rhinosinusitis and postoperative complications of functional endoscopic sinus surgery. This article systematically reviews the current status of such stent products, their preparation processes, related material selection, and drug formulation choices, with a focus on the preclinical performance evaluation of sinus drug stents, aiming to provide a reference for advancing the development and clinical translation of drug-eluting biodegradable sinus stents.
